Free Motorcycle Touring Routes – Through Spain to Portimao

The complete Portimao Motorcycle Touring route, proudly supported by those excellent humans at Dunlop which means it is free for you to download and enjoy.

This tour has several variants, starting with whether you arrive at Santander or Bilbao. As planned, the route favours arrival at Bilbao. However, if you head directly for waypoint five on Day One, that waypoint is south of Santander on the N623, which is a cracking road.

There are a couple of different options for Day Three. First, there is a direct, motorway heavy route for those of you wanting to get to the Portimao track quickly.

For those wanting to take a bit more time, there is a Day Three route that heads back to Spain and spends all the next day looping through the Parque Natural Sierra de Sevilla, north of Seville, before heading to the Algarve Circuit (Portimao) on Day Five.

To return north from Portimao, the route uses a lot of the famous N2 through Portugal, eventually arriving at the town of Gijon on the north coast of Spain four days later.

From Gijon, there is the choice of a motorway blast or an N roads route back to either Santander or Bilbao. 

All of the routes end at the hotels that we used, some of which are good and others a cheap place to sleep. 

You can find all of these through Booking.com or directly through the internet. Are they the right hotel for you? Difficult to say. If it is clean and has a hot shower, it works for us.
