Lincolnshire is perhaps most famous for being flat. So flat that according to us Cadwell Park race track contains “The Mountain”.
Arguably Scotland has better scenery. Wales has a real mountain, and Yorkshire staked its claim on all of the moors.
But what Lincolnshire has is an abundance of stimulating motorcycling roads that can be hooked together to make a seemingly endless variety of routes worth riding.
The B1434 is a great example. It is seven miles long, and although they are an invigorating seven miles, you wouldn’t want to ride fifty miles to enjoy them on their own.
But prefix the B1434 with a chunk of the A46 before following the A1084, part of the B1225, the B1203 and the B1202, and you end up with a sixty-mile loop northeast of Lincoln that is a beautiful way to spend an hour or two.
When importing GPX files, your GPS or Phone navigation app will recalulate the route based on your navigation preferences. We add waypoints to hopefully minimise any differences, but it is always worth double-checking.

The A46 may sound boring, but if you get a clear run, it is a beautiful road.
Some of the A1084 has been infected by the 50MPH disease spreading throughout England. The infection is in the early stages and hasn’t – as I write this – developed the secondary speed camera infection.
The Caistor town square is a good place for a mug of tea and a sausage bap. Not all cafes are open on Sunday.
There is a small section of the B1203 just before Tealby where the road gets skinny, and there is a lot of gravel on the centre line. It is short-lived – less than half a mile – but makes an oncoming 4×4 entertaining, especially on the blind corners.
For the GS riders, there is a Starbucks near the start and a Costsa near the end. I’ve visited both on my Tracer, but I think I got away with it.
